MUDr. Martina Pokorná Wiererová - Chief Doctor

Martina has been the in the lead of the practice for more than 15 years.
From an early age, she kept company with her father, MUDr. Pavel Wierer, who sat on the chair of his father, MUDr. Vendelín Wierer. She graduated from the 1st Faculty of Medicine of the CU in Prague. She spent 4 years as an internist in the Na Františku Hospital, where she worked also as en extern for the next 7 years. She completed internships in university hospitals in Prague and small hospitals in Hořovice and Havlíčkův Brod. In 2003, she certified in internal medicine, and in 2004 in general medicine.
In January 2005, after the death of her father, she took over his practice. She considers the work of a general practitioner to be meaningful, fulfilling and beautiful. She likes to spend time with her family, ideally traveling, skiing or cycling. She also enjoys experiential pedagogy.

MUDr. Marie Bourne

Marie originally went to England for a year in 2005 thanks to an Open Society Fund scholarship. She ended up spending 2 years at a Harry Potter-like boarding school in southern England and completed 5 years of medical school in Yorkshire, 2 years of internships in northern Scotland, 1 year of gerontology studies in Holland and 4 years of specialized training in the field of general medicine in England.
After proving to the Czech Ministry of Health that she can still speak the language, she returned with joy - from September 2020 she worked in a small general practice for adults in Karlín, and from March 2022 she joined us. She also works as a GP for Armáda Spásy.
She teaches students of general medicine at the 3rd Faculty of Medicine, CU. In addition to Czech and English, she also speaks Bulgarian and French. She is a member of both the Royal College of General Practitioners and the Royal College of Physicians. She is an active member of the association Doctors For Future, a group of health professionals working to spread information about the climate crisis and its effects on human health.

MUDr. Martina Nováková

After completing her studies at the 1st Faculty of Medicine, CU, she completed the basic strain in general medicine as an employee of the Ministry of the Interior's Health Care Facility, where she trained, among other things, to work as a coroner in the Prague's 1st Department (better known as "Mordparta"). During the acquisition of the basic strain, Martina Pokorná Wiererová became her mentor and later on her only employer. At the turn of the 5th and 6th years of medical studies, she had the unique opportunity to study for a year in Lund, Sweden, where she got to know a very different approach not only to patients, but also to doctors as employees. She therefore tries to use a human approach, understanding and friendliness in her practice. Due to her fascination with emergency medicine, during her final year of medicine, she arranged a more than six-month internship at the EMS of the Liberec Region, and after passing the certification in general medicine, she plans to further her education in this direction. In her free time, which is now scarce thanks to 2 small children, she likes to play the piano or sew. She goes to dog shows with her Mexican hairless dog and likes to ride her motorcycle. She used to do martial arts and work as a medic at scouting events, which she will hopefully return to soon. Although she is still on parental leave, she misses medicine a lot, so she returns at least 2 days a week.

MUDr. Eliška Pavlová

Eliška was inspired to study medicine by her grandmother, a general practitioner in Tanvald, a town in the Jizera Mountains. She graduated from the 3rd Faculty of Medicine, CU. During her medical studies, she interned in various parts of the Czech Republic, getting to know hospitals in Liberec, Karlovy Vary, Kladno, Pelhřimov or Uherské Hradiště. During these internship, she also appeared in our office for the first time. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she volunteered first at LDN Bubeneč, later commuting to Ústí nad Labem for the COVID-19 ICU. After graduating, she started working in the internal department of a small hospital in Říčany near Prague. She joined our team in 2024. In her spare time, she devotes herself to visually impaired children, with whom she goes to summer camps as part of the Tyflo Tourist Club and helps organize trips for them during the year as well. In addition, she also likes to travel both in the Czech Republic and around the world.

MUDr. Zuzana Rechtoriková

After completing her studies at the 2nd Faculty of Medicine, CU, she worked in the pulmonary and internal departments of smaller hospitals in the Czech Republic. During this time, she graduated from the Pulmonary Medicine branch and in 2022 she certified in General Medicine. During her studies, she completed several foreign internships, including work with disabled children in Ukraine, a health and psychological care focused project for preschool children and a one-year ERASMUS internship at a university clinic in West Germany.
She is a member of the Czech Medical Chamber and the J.E. Purkyně Association of General Medicine. She regularly participates in their training events, where she gains the latest knowledge about new methods of treatment. She holds a Diploma of lifelong learning.
She works as a volunteer at get-to-know-you events for young people and a medic for a floorball team. In her free time, she translates medical reports from German for the needs of the disabled and lectures books for children and adults, not only on health topics. Her interests include literature, bridge, music, hiking, skiing, cycling, and family. She enjoys working as a general practitioner.
MUDr. Zuzana Rechtoriková has been on a long-term sick leave since 1/1/2024 - during her absence, our other doctors will represent her.

MUDr. Eva Kandrnalová

MUDr. Eva Kandrnalová left our surgery to gain new experience at Galén clinic in September 2024. We hereby thank her for her great work in the past years! Her patients remain registered in our practice and will be cared for by our other doctors.

Nurses

Eva Plšková, DiS.

After grammar school, she studied social pedagogy and tried university education in the field of General Biology, but (wo)man proposes... :) In the past, she worked mainly in social services with different target groups. She spent most of her careern working with people with mental illness, but also with children at risk or adults with mental disabilities. She also has experience as a horse nurse, a mountain guide on horseback or a bartender. She joined the team of nurses in May 2022 and is happy to be working here! :)
She likes to wander the world, especially the wilderness. Although she fell in love with Prague, she tends to avoid cities. Her passions are horses and yoga, mountains and exploring the countryside. When there is time left, she goes to the forest, to the meadow, to pick up mushrooms or to the so called Wolf patrols. She also enjoys culture and likes to go to a concert, the theater or read a good book.

Veronika Blešová, DiS.

Veronika started working with us in January 2024. She graduated from secondary and then higher medical school in Třebíč. She then fulfilled her childhood promise and moved to Prague in 2009, where she worked in both hospital and outpatient settings. In her spare time, she likes to knit, crochet or bake. She likes to walk around the city and admire its architecture.

In our practice, we work with medical students who work with us as assistants and thus gather valuable experience for their careers.
